Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Milan

The Short Version

I am Lorenzo Ferrari, based in Milan, and over the past several years I have documented my experiences at gym facilities throughout Italy.

This site came about after growing tired of selecting gyms based on advertising and broad recommendations, only to find the reality didn't match. I wanted precise, candid facts about what these places were really like. When I couldn't locate that, I chose to build it.

Over a dozen Gyms Visited
Three Years Active
Well over 200 Classes Attended

How This Started

My workout routine began at a modest club near 12 Via delle Salute in Milan. It wasn't ideal, yet it was reachable, affordable, and helped me stay consistent.

After that place closed, I observed rapid changes in the fitness scene across Italy. New gyms opened, fresh ideas emerged, and marketing grew louder than the actual member experience.

I began trying various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Eventually those notes became this site, designed to help others make better-informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review here reflects actual visits and time spent inside the facility. I emphasize practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Invest enough time to grasp routines, busy periods, and trends
  • Go on various days and at different times
  • Experiment with multiple training formats and coaches
  • Regularly use amenities to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with other members about consistency and discrepancies
  • Take notes right after each visit

I revise reviews when major changes occur: renovations, leadership changes, price updates, or new facilities. Each article lists its last update date so you can gauge how current the information remains.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, but here is what I consider most important when assessing a gym:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel genuinely well-designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without waiting constantly?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Beyond training and writing, I reside and work in Milan. This project aims to simplify fitness choices and make them more transparent for those seeking the right surroundings.
